I am a young at heart 50 something woman with a wonderful husband, 2 great kids who are grown, and thriving.
I have bipolar, and this journal will hopefully help to work through this, without letting my illness define who I am.
Wish me luck....and feel free to tell me how you feel.
I did not of course write this post. I did however, come across this woman's blog and it has me stunned. I never believed things were "better" in Iraq, and I have read many blogs written by people who live there.
If you are easily upset, do NOT read her work. She offers no apology, nor should she. She is angry and her writing reflects that fact. Please..if you go to her blog, respect her as well.
It is so easy for us in our comfy homes and the safety that surrounds us, to be critical. I will not be critical of Layla. I will also continue to read her blog, because I think she is honest and I respect her ability to state exactly what is on her mind.
Keep an open mind when reading her...or dont read her at all.

I read quite a bit of this blog. It is very troubling and fills one with sadness for the people of Iraq.
Official America would have us believe this is "victory" and Iraq is a better place for their occupation.
Lies, lies and more lies.
Yes, disturbing.
